Golf Amiraute in Deauville is a very pleasant golf course with lots of water, especially on the front 9 that can wreck your card even before you've got going. So be careful. Make finding the fairway your first priority and you should score well here.

Just about 1 hour to the north-west of Rouen, Golf Etretat is another magnificent Normandy golf course set on the cliff tops overlooking the Channel. The 10th is one of the finest holes we know with its tee placement set high on the cliff demanding a drive to a fairway many feet below. When the wind blows, Golf Etretat is quite awesome.

Formerly called 'New Golf' and many people's first choice when travelling to Deauville, Golf Barriere is a pleasant golf course and very well maintained. It was originally designed by Tom Simpson who has the knack of putting bunkers in just the right place. The greens are well protected but if your game is on song, expect a good score.

45 minutes from Rouen and created in 1897, Golf Dieppe is the reputedly the 4th oldest golf course in France. A very pleasant setting with excellent views of the Channel plus lots of trees & water. Its main defence is its small greens. Some describe Golf Dieppe as a links course.

Less than 50 minutes northwest of Rouen, and 20 minutes from Deauville, Golf St Julien is a Normandy golf course that enjoys an exceptional setting. The 18 hole golf course provides the real challenge; American style layout which means quite long with well placed water hazards, bunkers and tricky rough.

A very attractive Normandy golf club located in charming woodland and designed by Dave Thomas and Peter Allis; very picturesque. Although quite short, Golf Houlgate is not an easy golf course and requires accuracy off the tee and care around the slick greens.

Quite simply, in our opinion, one of the finest golf courses in Northern France. Golf Champ de Bataille is magnificent. Forty-five minutes south-west of Rouen and set in the grounds of a XVII century chateau, this golf course is quite long, tree-lined and beautifully designed. It also has its share of water hazards and was, when we last played it, in impeccable condition.
